Belly Belts
A belly belt is a corset that serves as support for the abdomen. A belly belt is used for/by people with:
- Stretches of the straight abs (diastasis of the abdominal wall).
- A local weakening of the abdominal wall (eventrations).
- Fractures such as a navel fracture or with stoma.
How are belly belts adjusted?
A belly belt is always custom-made. The necessary measures are taken during the first meeting. Depending on your lifestyle, needs and wishes, the colour and closure will then be determined.
After this we will make a second appointment with you. The belly belt is then not yet finished so that lengths can still be determined. In addition, the fit is further refined, and it is looked at whether the belly belt still needs to be reduced or expanded. Optionally, a custom-made pad can also be added to keep the fracture content in place.
Finally, we make a final appointment where you can come and pick up your belly belt. Of course, we will still be there for you if you have any doubts or questions.
Reimbursement of Belly Belts
Belly belts can be prescribed by every doctor, so also by the general practitioner, and are fully reimbursed by your health insurance company. The renewal period depends on your age:
- 0 to 2 years: 6 months
- 2 to 16 years: 1 year
- From 16 years: 3 years
